This weekend Wil wanted to know about Digital SLR Camera’s… so here is what I know:
After some heavy research just before Xmas 2006, I decided that the camera for me was the Sony SDLR-A100K, which Sarah was kind enough to buy as my Xmas pressie (thanks honey).
So far I’ve been over the moon with it and would still highly recommend it!
Most of my pictures are now taken with this camera (by not all – some are with my Casio Exilim EX-Z1000 when I can’t carry the bigger SLR around)
Reviews:

Cheapest price:
Amazon single lens pack – £450 (when I last looked)
Amazon double lens pack – £629 (when I last looked)
DigitalRev have it for £356 (when I last looked)
NOTE TO REMEMBER: You can get versions packages without a lens or with several lenses, so don’t be swayed by what seems to be a cheaper price – double check whats in the pack!
WHILST THE POUND IS STRONG AGAINST THE DOLLAR: You might consider importing one from the US (see below) – but remember, you might get a VAT bill a few weeks later unless you ask them to wrap it and deliver it as a pressie!
Memory Card:
You will also need an nice big fat memory card for this one – I find that the best prices for memory cards are found on ebay
- 2 gb should do you fine (Note: Don’t buy high-speed memory cards they don’t seem to be compatible with the camera for some stupid reason!)
-
my fav would be Canon EOS 1000D, which has DIGIC III processing and is compatible with the complete range of EF/EF-S lenses and of course its 10.1 meg, unfortunately not 37.5MP
